Beth Ellis
About the Artist:
Under the warmth of an afternoon sun, blueberry pickers contently gather their favorite fruit. A lobsterman tools his boat slowly past the lighthouse and into port at end of day. A stand of birches beyond an open field turn the silvery undersides of their leaves upward to announce an impending storm. The season's first snowfall takes tenuous hold on a field still warm with summer green...
With easel, canvas, brushes and paints--and sometimes foul-weather gear--Beth Ellis is there, capturing the place and the moment in a style that reflects her energy and her strong sense of place.
Beth's paintings are in private collections from coast to coast and on exhibit in a number of galleries in the northeast. When Beth was selected to exhibit at the prestigious Promenade Gallery at the Bushnell in Hartford, CT, the Hartford Advocate's arts reviewer described her painting as "...work of sweeping movements and unexpected colors notes. Ellis can wrench the heart with her color."
